This time of year I watch the buds outside my office window, slowly, slowly bursting into my beautiful magnolia tree. By Valentine’s Day the tree is always full and gorgeous and I accept it as a love note from the earth. Speaking of which--

EMBRACE
I think I have melted All over you– Melted like a crayon On a windowsill On a warm, warm day.
You may have to Peel me off. Or let me stay.
TO THE SOUND OF THE RAIN
I want to love you tonight To the sound of the rain.
I want to be Roof and walls to you, And burning wood.
I want you to see my smile For a second of lightning.
I want you to hear The steady beat of my heart Between the thunder And my voice Whispering your name And almost silent kisses As I love you tonight To the sound of the rain.

http://www.tsbtc.org/ Baltimore, Maryland–June Spotlighters Theatre A note from the director of a staged reading of FACING EAST by Spotlighters Theatre in Baltimore: “Just wanted to let you know that the reading was VERY well received. My actors were moved to tears as they rehearsed the parts. We’ve been asked by the Interfaith Committee to present FACING EAST as a touring show during Baltimore’s Gay Pride celebration in June. FACING EAST is so powerful!” AND ON THE CONTINUING WORK OF NO MORE GOODBYES: “Three months ago yesterday my brother came out of the closet about his homosexuality. I didn't know how to react...My husband bought me your two books for Christmas, "Goodbye, I Love You," and "No More Goodbyes." I've already finished them both. I cried, I laughed, I cried, and I feel so much better! I no longer feel afraid. I don't know what the future will hold for my brother, nor what the eternities hold for him, but I do know that I will be there for him. As soon as I finished the second book, I wrote him a letter. I wanted him to know that the door of our relationship was wide open. Thank you for helping me to see with a little more understanding, and love. I can't wait to pass your books along to my parents and siblings, who are still struggling tremendously.” -B
